This is the first edition of the contest on Graph Embedding for Pattern Recognition, that will be hosted by the ICPR 2010 Conference to be held in Istanbul on August 23-26, 2010. This contest is supported by the Technical Committee TC15 of IAPR on Graph Based Representation in Pattern Recognition. Benchmarking of graph-related algorithms has been a major topic of interest for TC15 since its inception; TC15 has been maintaining since more than 5 years a web page devoted to benchmarking with several graph databases. Thus TC15 will fully endorse this initiative; moreover, the new graph database used for this contest will be added to the TC15 Web site and a link to the article summing up the results of this contest will also be added to the TC15 Web site (within the limitations of the eventual copyrights).
