Robot Vision Cup 2013

After the success of the last two years, the students of the Computer Engineering Master’s Degree, during the course of Models and Methods for Computer Vision, continued the competition of sighted robots.
The participants, divided into five teams, realized artificial intelligence systems, able to collect and analyze the images from the camera mounted on the robot.

The main novelty of this competition with respect to the last years refers to the introduction of the “ear” to the robot; a human operator gives speech commands to the robot, which autonomously move inside the arena by processing and properly interpreting such commands together with the acquired images.

The aim of the competition is to reach and blow, as quickly as possible, the orange or the yellow balloons randomly placed inside the arena, depending on the speech commands given by the operator.

The competition will be held on August 1st, 2013 in the lobby of the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Salerno.
